St. Cloud University | Integrated Science Engineering Laboratory Facility
St. Cloud, MN
The 102,000 SF Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility at St. Cloud State University contains supporting classrooms, offices and conference spaces. Interconnecting the multiple leveled facility is an open three story atrium that encourages interaction and collegiality while mixing faculty and students. Highly flexible laboratory spaces, identified as universal labs incorporate “H frames” case work. Water, gas, vacuum and electricity are distributed overhead with service carriers allowing the variables of flexibility to avoid limitations when reconfiguring. Prep areas are centered within the building. The premier lab in the facility is the 15,000 BioScience lab.
However, small technical labs such as optics, motion analysis, thermal science, robotics and the senior engineering lab are equally prominent. The building has exceeded B3 and LEED Silver guidelines, while creating a very strong visual presence on campus that has established the science and engineering zone.
