Royce Becomes Licensed Architect

June 5, 2025

Congratulations to Royce! He recently passed his final ARE exam and became a licensed architect in Minnesota.

Royce joined Architecture Advantage in 2022 as an Architectural Intern while finishing his graduate studies at North Dakota State University and quickly became a go-to member of the design team. When he transitioned to a full-time role after graduation, it marked the start of an exciting new chapter filled with hands-on project experience, collaboration, and the opportunity to learn directly from firm leadership and teammates.

Since then, Royce has worked on a wide range of projects across northern Minnesota. His higher education experience includes work with the University of Minnesota–Duluth, Lake Superior College, and Central Lakes College—all projects that support students, faculty, and the future workforce. He’s also contributed to projects for St. Louis County, Cook County, and the City of Duluth, gaining valuable insight into the unique challenges and responsibilities that come with government and civic projects.

Royce brings an analytical mindset to his work and genuinely enjoys digging into complex problems, but his commitment to growth doesn’t stop at project work. Royce is a LEED Green Associate and has a strong interest in sustainable design and responsible building practices. He’s also an active member of AIA and NCARB, staying engaged with the profession and continuing to build his knowledge and experience.

Becoming a licensed architect is a major milestone, and one we’re proud to celebrate with Royce. It’s the result of years of hard work and dedication, and it opens the door to new opportunities and responsibilities. It also means strengthening the depth and expertise we bring to our clients and partners.

Royce’s journey from intern to licensed architect reflects the kind of growth that comes from showing up, leaning in, and staying committed. We’re excited to see what’s next for him and grateful for the impact he continues to make on our team, our projects, and the communities we serve.
