Welcome Back, Emily!

This week we welcomed Emily back to Architecture Advantage! She will be taking on a new role as our BIM Manager in the Duluth Office.

Previously Emily was one of our architectural technicians but will be providing support to the design teams from behind the scenes in this position. With an A.A.S. in Energy Efficiency, an A.A.S. in Architectural Technology, and a Certificate of Sustainable Design, Emily brings a wide range of experience to the table.

“One aspect that truly excites me about my new role is the constant opportunity to explore emerging technologies and discover innovative ways to improve processes,” she said.

As BIM Manager, Emily will be putting her expertise in Autodesk Revit to use, along with developing and implementing standards, model coordination and clash detection, and focusing on sustainability.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys baking and exploring all of Duluth’s trail systems (including water trails!). Over the next few years, she hopes to complete the entire Superior Hiking Trail in sections.

Storytelling has always been at the forefront of what I love to do, whether it was directing short plays with my sister when we were little, writing and producing them during my time at the University of Minnesota, or going behind the camera to capture my travels in adulthood. Now, in marketing, not only do I get to continue to tell stories, but I have the opportunity to connect with a larger audience. Evaluating social media data and using the information to develop strategies and determine how to tell a story provides a unique challenge that I love taking on every day. I never imagined that I would end up applying my marketing background to the architecture and engineering industry, but it pushes me to think outside of the box and find new ways to put the pieces of the story together.

I moved to Duluth to pursue my education and, unexpectedly, found myself entering the field of architecture and construction. After graduating with an A.A.S. in Energy Efficiency, I obtained an A.A.S. in Architectural Technology and a Certificate in Sustainable Design. Driven by a passion for architecture and sustainability, I value working for a firm that prioritizes the use of best practices.

Drawing from over five years of experience as a senior technician, I have recently transitioned into the role of BIM Manager, working to support our design teams to ensure the seamless execution of projects from inception to completion. I am always excited to learn new things, and the ever-evolving nature of this industry provides the opportunity to explore emerging technologies and find innovative ways to improve our processes. By doing so, we can better serve our clients and deliver excellent results.
