We’re excited to share that construction at Lake Superior College (LSC) is complete! At the end of 2022, the Architecture Advantage team – along with our consultants – began work on a renovation and addition of the College’s main campus to accommodate the relocation of the manufacturing program.
We worked with Lake Superior College to deliver an 8,300 SF addition and a 20,000 SF renovation to bring the advanced manufacturing, welding, electronic labs, and machining programs back to the College’s main campus after years of leasing a facility in downtown Duluth. The goal was not only to design a space for these programs, but to reconnect students and faculty in these programs to those working in other programs and with the rest of the campus.
Design elements such as orange and blue – Lake Superior College’s school colors – ductwork, tiling, and accent walls throughout the spaces add interest to the industrial-style areas. It was important these learning spaces were fully operational, as well as comfortable and welcoming. To truly personalize the spaces, LSC students in the programs we were serving were part of the construction team bringing the vision to life.
